Football Victoria Club Grants are open for grassroots clubs

Football Victoria confirm the opening of applications for the 2024 FV Club Development Grant Stream.

The Grant has a maximum value of $1,000 and the initiative aligns with FV’s “Our Football” Strategic Framework.

One of FV’s core pillars as mentioned in their recent 2024-2028 Strategy is to ensure clubs under FV start to lead and unite the way in governance, capability, and sustainability.

The foundation of grassroots football is the most important for a proper working pyramid and referee/player development that are mentioned as key pillars in the ‘Our Football’ Strategy for the next 5 years.

Examples of what will be funded by FV:

• Implementation of social programs like MiniRoos/MiniTillies Kick Off, Go Girls, Go Soccer Mums, and All Abilities to boost and retain participation.
• Implement the FV Club Coach Coordinator (CCC) Program to enhance support for grassroots coaching.
• Acquire essential operational equipment, such as line marking machines and portable goals.
• Improve existing programs to better include women and girls, such as by removing white playing shorts.
• Promote female coaching by providing full or partial funding for coaching courses.
• Assist current referees in obtaining advanced levels of accreditation and furthering their professional development.
• Support a current female committee member in completing a leadership course for women or any other relevant course, such as financial management or governance.
• Introduce new initiatives throughout the club, such as safeguarding measures.

This is a great initiative by FV who are looking at ensuring that clubs are sustainable in the long term, beyond the initial funding they receive.

By working with FV’s Growth and Development department throughout the process, it’s sure to successfully fund key areas of clubs to help them strive.

Applications opened 1st August 2024 and close on Monday 30th of September 2024 with successful applicants notified on the 14th of October.
