South Australian clubs invited to apply for $1.4m Active Club funding

South Australian sporting and active recreation clubs can now apply for a share of almost $1.45 million in funding through the latest round of the State Government’s Active Club Program.

Round 56 of the program opened on 28 August, with grants of $1,500 available to clubs with fewer than 100 members and $3,000 available to organisations with 100 or more members.

The Active Club Program grants will help sporting clubs provide more affordable, accessible programs, allowing for greater participation opportunities within the local community.

The funding will help clubs improve how they deliver their programs and services with eligible costs including sporting equipment, uniforms and protective gear, professional development, medical equipment, playing venue maintenance equipment and minor infrastructure upgrades.

Clubs can also use funding for initiatives including positive menstrual health programs, energy and water efficiency measures, club promotion and technology directly linked to participation or club sustainability.

Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing has allocated a total budget of $1.448 million for the round, including a dedicated $200,000 stream for recreational fishing clubs in recognition of the challenges facing the sector following the algal bloom.

The latest round follows Round 55, which provided approximately $1.34 million to 568 clubs across the state to help clubs provide greater support and services to their members.

Eligible applicants must be not-for-profit sporting, active recreation or recreational fishing organisations, have at least 20 members and have been operating for 12 months or more.

Applications close at midday on Wednesday 14 October 2026, with successful applicants expected to be notified in January 2027.
